It’s with great shock and sadness that we have to announce the sudden passing of one of our distinguished members, “Carpet” Dave Marsh. Dave’s family have asked us to pass on the details of his funeral which will take place on Monday 10th July. The service will be held at Belton All Saints church at 12:30, although people are asked to meet at Sandtoft Airfield to begin with at 12:00. After the service, people are invited to attend 7 Lakes Country Park Bar & Restaurant to share memories of Dave.
Dave’s love of flying started in 2020 when he rapidly went on to gain his Private Pilot’s Licence, quickly followed by his Night Rating. His most recent achievement in flying came in April this year when he gained his Flight Instructor’s Rating. Over the years, Dave became part of the furniture at Sandtoft and will be dearly missed.
