ELCAS promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. YAC is now an approved learning provider and we are able to offer flight training on MoD ELCAS credits.
Enhanced Learning Credits
Yorkshire Aero Club is now an approved learning provider for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS). This scheme promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. If you are a current or former member of the Armed Forces and have accrued sufficient service time, you will be eligible for the ELCAS funding. It offers financial support for all our eligible training courses listed below as an up-front payment. Although we are a flight training organisation, this scheme is not limited to military pilots but to all Armed Forces members who would like to learn flying and benefit from the MoD funding. All our ELCAS courses includes annual membership and flying equipment required in addition to the items listed below.

Using Your ELCAS Credits
The credits are redeemed by members of the Armed Forces on the Portal on https://www.enhancedlearningcredits.com/
Service personnels can start by submitting a claim, choosing Yorkshire Aero Club as the learning provider along with choosing the desired course. The ELCAS administration will then assess and approve the use of ELCAS credit in the form of a up-front payment. Members who have accrued sufficient service time should normally be eligible for three of such claims. The amount approved will be paid directly to YAC while the members will be responsible for any excess amount not covered by the credits.

| PPL2-2 | 2840 | This course includes another 15 hours of Dual Training on the Cessna 150 and another 3 Ground Exams. This should allow you to finish all the general handling part of flight training and make a start on navigation. |
| PPL2-3 | 2850 | This course includes the last 15 hours of Dual Training on the Cessna 150, the last 3 Ground Exams and the FRTOL test. This will finish the navigation exercises and prepare you for the skills test. |
| PPL4-1 | 3210 | This course includes 15 hours of Dual Training on the Cessna 172 and 3 Ground Exams. This should allow you to get to your First Solo flight. |
